Indian Gymkhana is a social club established in 1932 during the erstwhile British Raj.

We are located in the heart of the city, at Cox Town.

The club is spread over an area of 4.25 acres with a lot of greenery and open lung spaces.

The following are a few salient features and facilities available at the club.

Indian Gymkhana Club has come a long way in the last decade and is now a highly rated club with state of the art air-conditioned Sports Complex spread over 45,000 square feet comprising of:

  • Semi-Olympic size swimming pool with adjacent kids' pool with coaching facilities.
  • International standard 3 badminton courts with wooden flooring and spectator seating of 200 persons, capable of hosting national level tournaments.
  • Snooker and billiards room comprising of 4 international size tables with state of the art facilities.
  • Well-equipped health club spread over an area of 2500 square feet with modern, bio-mechanical equipments with well-appointed trainers.
  • International standard squash court with spectator seating capacity of 50 pax.
  • Cards section with all modern facilities.
  • Lounge area in the center of the complex.
  • Landscaping spread over the entire club area.
  • Open air basketball court with synthetic turf.

Our Recent Achievements

  • Solar Project

    The Managing Committee is happy to announce, notwithstanding the legal hurdles, the implementation of solar energy generation. With the ever increasing cost of electricity and substantial increase in our power requirement and consumption at all our facilities and the Club as a whole, we had initiated this Go-Green venture of generating Solar Energy looking into the future to meet our entire power requirement. Any excess power generated would be relayed back to the grid.

  • Guest Accommodation

    Commissioning of the 10 Elegantly designed Guest Rooms and Suites has been completed and was formally inaugurated on March 17, 2017, at the main clubhouse building by renovating the entire premises. We have 4 suites and 6 double rooms that are luxurious and well-appointed with tastefully done interiors with all modern amenities. Affiliations to various premium clubs around the country are being worked on and underway.

  • Multi-Purpose Hall

    A centrally air-conditioned Multipurpose Party Hall with a capacity to host 40 pax has been commissioned, equipped with the latest facilities which is made available for members that can be also be utilized as a Corporate Conference Room.

  • Waste Management

    As mentioned earlier, a path-breaking initiative, the Managing Committee has commissioned the latest International Standard dry and wet waste equipment. With this addition, we are proud to say that our club is among the very few that is committed to working towards a greener and eco-friendly environment by undertaking Go-Green measures necessary for protection and improving the quality of our environment along with managing our own wastes productively.

  • New sport facilities

    We have introduced Cross Fitness, Aqua Zumba, Yoga and Martial Arts as additions to our constant endeavor to improve and implement new facilities for the benefit of our members and their families. Some of these sports involve taking fitness to a totally new level which is being integrated with conventional fitness forms.


  • AC Bar Renovation

    The existing AC Bar is proposed to be refurbished to convert to an AC Lounge for families, which would offer another facet to the existing open-air facilities with a different ambience for the benefit of our members and their families and guests. The approximate cost of this project is 50-60 Lakhs, and we are working in tandem with our liquor suppliers for major sponsorship.

  • Basketball/Multipurpose Court

    An international standard Synthetic floor, flood-lit Basketball Court on a turnkey basis, which can also be used for multiple sports and activities. The cost of this project including flood lights, fencing and seating is approximately Rs. 29 Lakhs.

  • Heat-Controlled Swimming Pool

    As previously proposed, we aim to convert our 5-Lakh liter swimming pool to a heat-controlled pool so members and families along with their guests could use the facility throughout the year. The cost of this project is approximately Rs. 27 lakhs.

  • Staff Quarters

    Our resident staff has to be provided accommodation which is the urgent need of the hour. This work will be taken up on a priority basis.
